The procedure for issuing and exchanging a residence permit

In order to obtain a permanent residence permit, you need to apply to a state-owned enterprise that is part of the management of the center and the administrative service center. To do this, you need to:

  • collect a package of necessary documents;

  • apply to the relevant institution;

  • submit the collected package of documents.

If everything goes well, you will have a residence permit in Ukraine in 15 days. The procedure for obtaining a temporary residence permit is the same.

When is it necessary to exchange a permanent residence permit? This should be done in the following cases:

  • you have reached 25 or 45 years of age;

  • there are changes in the information on the document;

  • poor condition of the document;

  • the document is about to expire.

By the way, if you have an old-style permanent residence permit, you should replace it with a new ID card.

Extension of the residence permit

A temporary permanent residence permit, like its long-term alternative, has a validity period. And if it is coming to an end, you should take care of extending your temporary or permanent residence permit in Ukraine. Moreover, you need to apply to the center 15 days before the document expires. The foreigner will keep the document until a new one is ready. Then foreigners hand over the old one and receive the new one.

Insurance for a residence permit in Ukraine

Registration of foreigners in Ukraine has its own nuances. A document such as a permanent residence permit requires an insurance policy. It can be valid for 1 year, 13 months or 2 years. It all depends on the migration service. It is issued in printed form and sent by mail. Therefore, if you buy insurance for a residence permit for a foreigner, it will allow you to obtain a document such as a permanent residence permit, the rights of which allow you to stay in Ukraine.
